DNR to offer free volunteer training March 6
Training is geared for all kinds of recreation users
The Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is offering a free all-day training for volunteers interested in helping out at DNR-managed recreation areas in northwest Washington, including Walker Valley ORV Area, Blanchard Mountain, Reiter Foothills, and the Harry Osborn/Les Hilde Equestrian Trails.
When: Saturday, March 6, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Where: DNR’s Northwest Region Office, 919 Township Rd. (State Rte. 9), Sedro-Woolley
Volunteers play a critical role in keeping recreation facilities open and safe for the public. Training includes: personal safety, first aid awareness, trail maintenance practices, and how to become a registered volunteer and track hours for credit. In addition, we will provide training for those volunteers who want to participate in DNR’s forest watch program.
What to bring: This is a sit-down classroom session. Bring pen, notepad, and a lunch.
