Hi All:

The work party at Reiter Foothills went very well - David Way of the DNR was pleased with all the work accomplished.

The main emphasis was on stream bank stabilization/restoration at the fording points across May Creek. David had a teams of volunteers on both side of the creek spreading wood chips, planting native flora, and blocking-off trail entrances.

There was an excellent turn-out of various user groups: quads, dirtbikes, horse riders, 4x4, and even a hiker or two! :)

Regards,

Alan

Other points worth mentioning....

The Mayor of Sultan was there, The Sky Valley Chamber of Commerce was also there with a canopy and tables filled with Hot Coffee and homemade cookies and bottles of water for everyone. There was also a lady from the horse group who brought a truckbed load of donated plants from the nursery she owns in Snohomish. Lots of people supporting us and deserve our thanks.

:D

Hi All:

Neil is correct - I forgot about the show of support by the Sky Valley Chamber of Commerce, which included the cookies & coffee for the volunteers, and a speech by the Mayor of (I thought she was from) Gold Bar.

Very impressive, to see them out there on a cold Saturday morning, and for them to see the crowd of volunteers present for the work party!

Regards,

Alan
