Well I never got a personal response.. But here is what I just recieved

Last weekend, there was an incident at Walker Valley ORV riding area in which a DNR employee was confronted by an aggressive group of angry ORV riders. The riders used foul language and gestures, sprayed gravel toward the DNR vehicles, and rode at fast speeds back and forth in the vicinity. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable, and we will take action.

These types of actions are very detremental to us users....

I just got that too. That really pisses me off. I assume it was Kim that this happened to? I don't understand how people can take their frustrations out on the people who are working hard on the ground out there. :(

I would be interested to know if it was wheelers, quads or motorbikes.

no matter who it was it affects us as a whole.
we are all orv users and this is not appropriate behavior for anyone and i hate to see the community affected by this.

...................

There were multiple incidents.

The DNR staff was from the forestry (http://www.reitertrailwatch.com/forum/#) side and he was delivering culverts to be installed.

He was parked along the roadside when problems occured.

I was told that he said that at least a dozen people drove by and gave him an "F-you".

He said that at least one person roosted him.

Later it was discovered that some of the culvert was stolen. Some was found along Cavanaugh Road.

According to his coworkers, he is a big guy and no weenie, but the situation had him worried for his well being and he told his boss. Since his boss is on the forestry side of the DNR, he of course went to the recreation side of the DNR management. They then spoke to us. The DNR understands that these clowns are a small rouge minority and not aligned with any ORV organization.

Nobody knows if this was a reaction over the Reiter closure, but the DNR has ask for our help educating the masses. The DNR runs into a lot of clueless people. Guys taking out their frustration on random state employees puts their bosses in a protective mode that cannot be good for our sport.

DNR law enforcement if working on scheduling some extra enforcement weekends at Walker very soon.<!-- google_ad_section_end --> <!-- / message -->
