I think it would be helpful to know who is currently certified in First Aid/CPR.
I just recently renewed mine. I also carry a Corpsman Trauma Bag when out in the woods since you never really know what can happen and how long it will take to get help.
We are going to be doing alot of work and injuries can happen, knowing someone is trained and prepared is crucial though.

I'm required to always have a basic first aid/ CPR cert through my work. Once in a while it expires and I have to renew.....So 99% of the time I have one.
I just received my Wilderness First Responder certification last weekend. The Ashford Fire Station offered the class for $25...the cost of the text book. Maybe you can contact a local department & inquire about a similar class in your area. Otherwise, contact Bill Tylor and ask when they plan to host another class:
Pierce County Fire District 23 in Ashford, WA is offering Advanced Wilderness First Aid courses for a very reasonable price of $25 per person. The classes will be held on Saturdays beginning October 31. Three certification levels are available:
The Advanced Wilderness First Aid will be two Saturdays.
To upgrade a current EMT certification to Wilderness EMT, participants will need to attend all six Saturdays.
If a person does not have an EMT certification, they can obtain a Wilderness First Responder certification in the same six weeks.
All days will be 10 hour days with lots of hands on training.
The fire district is doing this for the price of the materials and cards. Other classes range anywhere from the two day class for $300 to a WFR certification for as much as $700.
Volunteers that routinely work with the DNR/FS should seriously look into the class. Having a designated crew leader at work parties will help break up any span-of-control issues. Volunteer leadership with the Wilderness First Aid training would be a plus.
This is very relevant training to the type of environment we work in. The fire district is looking for class commitment ASAP.

Depending on when it happens, I'd like to get some sort of (updated) training. The last CPR training I had was back in the early '90s, and I've forgotten it all by now...
