View Full Version : My intentions....

It seems some of you guys may have a preconceived attitude/ opinion of why I'm here. I'm not here to stir shit but if it's necessary to accomplish something I will. I'm not here to make new friends or fit into a click but not here to make enemies either. Yes I stir shit on NWW and I offer no apology for that.
I'm at a undecided point where I'm trying to decide what I want to do to contribute for the greater good of Reiter. I can assure you it's not selfish as there will no doubt be little to keep me occupied once the new Reiter is done. I do however care that there are trails for others to begin on just like there were beginner trails when I started.
I'm not promising I'll do anything at this point but would like to keep a open avenue here to communicate these things and help me make my decisions.
Now you know.

Thank You! Maybe we needed to hear this directly like this. I hope you stick around and give us a chance.

I hope this is honestly your intent.
As i have said before i do believe you have valid points in some areas, but wasnt it you that said you refuse to go do any kind of work out at reiter at the last meeting? or was i and everyone around me hearing things?
I understand that there has been problems with rtw getting everything correctly set in play in the past, I lso believe that it will soon change for the better and quickly.
RTW is far from a click, we are all here to help reiter becaome a place for everyone to be able to use. if it was a click I would not be here. I drive a huge truck that a ton of people hate and think it should not be even on the trails and i definitely don't fit in clicks.
I have friends in multiple user groups and belong to several clubs and 3 different associations all because I do not want to see all of our trails get closed, not to fit in a click.
there is noting wrong with collective criticism but it does not need to get out of hand

You must have been hearing things because I never said anything of the sort.

People need to understand that while we may all be here for the same reason, Reiter, we will not always share the same opinion.
I think what is happening is that those with the ability to moderate this board are using that ability to further their opinion rather than allowing all to discuss different ones.
That's just my opinion.

What are you trying to accomplish Brad? Do you want to enlighten us with your intentions as Rick has? This might be helpful to see exactley where you are coming from. You guys have both made posts that are being interpreted wrong. So spell it out so we have no further confussion.

I'm here for several reason:
1. To question the information the RTW puts out to the users.
2. To question the intentions of the RTW.
3. Suggest and provide feedback as to how things could change for the better.
4. Volunteer for work parties and other activities.
There is currently no one doing #1 and #2 above. If you have a room full of folks who all share the same opinion and attitude their will most likely never be a well rounded discussion about a topic, it will simply be one sided. It's a valuable tool that forces a better thought process and eventually leads to better decision making.

Agreed, but your attempts at #1 & #2 have seemed like more of calling out certain people, and THAT is not helpful and is why we have gotten to the point of post removals. Keep the finger pointing out of the #1 & #2 attempts and you might get somewhere.

I don't agree with you, I think you would be hard pressed to find anywhere on this BBS where I have pointed a finger directly at another specific user/member.
People get offended all on their own simply because they don't like what they are reading.

so you agree you said you wont do any work out there and now you are saying you are here to volunteer for work parties?
seems like you are contradicting yourself.
if you are willing to do some work parties then great, i hope to see you out there putting in some work and helping get reiter where we all want it to be.

4xRick, he said he would not be inclined to help with the restoration but WOULD be willing to help with new trail type stuff. This is what he had said at the meeting. He is not contradicting himself. He is entitled to only do the work as he sees fit. I as well as many others will be willing to do ANY of the work that is needed of us. I know Brad mentioned somewhere that the DNR may be dangling a carrot with the ORV part to get us to do rehab work. However I feel like we would look like total D'Bags if we told DNR to get help elsewhere to fix the mess that is there because of ORV use. We need to do this stuff in order to show that we are in this for the whole area and not just for our own enjoyment.

The mess at Reiter is because the DNR has not been doing there job for the past two decades. Yes, it really is that simple.
As many of you may have guilt which is motivating you, I do not. I wheeled trails at Reiter, many of which I either made or had a hand in making. The garbage, dumped vehicles, and the scorched Earth that others decided to create by driving off the trail is not my responability to feel guilty for.
My comments on what I may volunteer to help fix or build at Reiter was intended to show that there are more folks out there using Reiter with a poor attitude than those that attend RTW meetings and DNR work parties. It is these folks that make up a portion of our user group for which we need to focus on finding a way to include so as to remedy the problem before Reiter is reopened in the future.

sorry if i misunderstood your comment at the meeting.
The mess at Reiter is because the DNR has not been doing there job for the past two decades. Yes, it really is that simple.
i do not agree with this. the dnr cannot police the area 24 hours a day and every person that happens to go up there. people will go dump garbage and cars wherever they can. every orv park in the state has the same problems, i do work at several areas and they all have the same problems.
As many of you may have guilt which is motivating you, I do not. I wheeled trails at Reiter, many of which I either made or had a hand in making. The garbage, dumped vehicles, and the scorched Earth that others decided to create by driving off the trail is not my responability to feel guilty for.
if you have built these trails then somehow you feel they belong to you or something? who gave you permission to build them? it has never been a orv park or even a legal place to wheel, it has just so happened the dnr has let us do what we do this long. ten or more years ago there was only a few trails and i am sure if it was still that way the dnr would have as big of a problem as there is now with needing to fix what has been damaged. im not saying i have not wheeled on the trails you may have built but i have never been driving down the road and said hey that looks like a challenge and my rig would fit down there lets destroy some more natural vegetation.

i do agree with this 100% there are way more people out there causing problems than making things better for sure.
No he does make *some* valid points and we can at least let him speak them civily. ;)
i completely agree with neil on this one.
