Please print this form, fill it out, and bring it to the next RTW meeting to be approved for membership status. I will try to bring blank copies as well for those that forget.

Is there a sticky somewhere on the fourm that explains what membership means or implies versus just someone who attends meetings, work parties etc..?

Not that I am aware of, it is a subject that we are currently attempting to work on and should have better defined before too much longer.

Per the Bylaws in another thread....
ARTICLE II – PURPOSE AND AREA OF OPERATION
The purpose of the RTW shall be:
To preserve and maintain the Reiter Trails recreation area and to work with the appropriate governing bodies to create a legitimate motorized recreation area suitable for safe public and family use.
Section 1.
RTW shall provide open communication to exchange ideas, information and also represent the interest and improve the general welfare of the users of the Reiter Trails area located between Gold Bar and Index, Washington as determined by Washington Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and Snohomish County.
Section 2.
RTW shall be non-commercial, non-sectarian and non-partisan. The authority and area of operation of the RTW shall be derived from the membership, DNR, Snohomish County and other private owners of Government agencies as related to Reiter Trails.
Section 3.
This organization shall have no capital stock. No dividends shall be paid and no part of the income of this organization shall be distributed to its members, directors or officers. The Executive Officers shall have the authorization to pay reasonable compensation for authorized expenses.
ARTICLE III – MEMBERSHP
Section 1.
RTW shall give equal opportunity for membership, volunteer participants, and user groups without regard to race, religion, color, creed, or national origin, gender, marital status, sexual orientation, age, or disabilities. In furtherance of this policy, RTW shall:
1. Prohibit discrimination in recruitment for volunteer participation in the organization.
2. Base decisions regarding Board positions and other volunteer leadership and advancement upon valid requirements and criteria, which are related, and necessary to perform the work required.
3. Assure a work and meeting environment free from discrimination.
Non-members are welcome to attend any RTW meeting. A person may become a member by attending two meetings; submit a membership application on the prescribed form, and must:
1. Open to anyone, members under the age of 18 years must have parental consent.
2. Have an understanding and tolerance of multi-use recreation.
3. Understand, practice, and when necessary teach “Tread Lightly” and/or “Leave No Trace” principles.
4. Be a positive steward of all causes associated with Reiter Trails and willing to get involved.
5. Agree to call 911 to report any illegal activity witnessed in the Reiter Trails area.
Section 2.
Members shall elect all RTW Executive Officers. Every member shall have one vote upon each matter submitted to a vote at any club meeting, or special circumstances designated by the Executive Officers. Members are encouraged to attend club meetings, and invited to be present at meetings held by the Executive Officers.
Section 3.
Guidelines for the public online forum are as follows:
1. No discussion of any illegal activity, threats of violence, or racist remarks.
2. Each member is allowed one login account. Registering with multiple accounts is not allowed.
3. Be respectful to everyone.
4. Abuse of power.

I think this one needs to be updated a little as it insinuates that power will be abused on this forum :D

It is spelled out in the By-Laws of RTW, but those are in a state of flux at the moment, but nothing real major that I am aware of.
