RTW Meeting Minutes 9-9-09
We started off with David Way once again
He mentioned that DNR had gotten the permits from fish and wildlife to work in the streams at Reiter Foothills with equipment until the middle of October
He also said he had started work on the middle road on Tuesday
He needs help hauling debris tomorrow for the middle road
He also said that he wouldn’t be at Saturdays’ work party but would be there on Sunday to do some finish work from Saturday.
Hoping for 20-30 people to show up and lend a hand to make the work go easier
The 15th-16th of September David will be working on the Hogerty Creek crossing
He mentioned that Ron Whitehall (DNR’s police officer) has been in the area a lot writing tickets
He wants to get the motorcycle groups involved in tearing out the old motorcycle bridge that is run down and unsafe now
Once again he talked of how there will be a public meeting on the recreation plan for Reiter Foothills sometime in October
Then we moved onto stuff specific to RTW
We discussed moving the round table (area just for RTW members) over to Nw-Wheelers so it’s easier for us to access
Everyone for the most part agreed and Mike Kash (Crash) said he would move it
There was a discrepancy on a different website on the date of the RTW sponsored clean-up so that was cleared up so everyone was straightened out that the date is October 4th
WE also discussed how we need to get everyone’s member applications on file!!!
Along the lines of membership we discussed membership dues possibly
• Charlie mentioned a possible $25 a year due for being a member of RTW as we don’t have much in the way of cash to operate
• Kat thought that $10 might be better as we are a smaller group still and it might scare some folks off
• Mike Kash thinks we should stick to donations for now as well as fund raisers rather than member dues because we need to get as many folks involved with RTW right now and member dues might cause them to not want to be a part of us
Charlie let us know that he attended a stump jumpers meeting
He said that he has been in contact with a member of the stump jumpers quite a bit since the meeting and says that they want to work with us
We discussed how if/when Reiter Foothills becomes an ORV park that RTW should bring all other user groups together to form a kind of focus group of the area
The idea of RTW putting on a poker run in the future to raise money and awareness
Charlie mentioned a kind of relay race that involves all user groups so we can all work together for something and become better acquainted with each other
Alan brought a sample of his finished flyer for the October clean-up
Along those lines we decided we should probably have a pre-cleanup meeting Monday the 28th of September to get any last details figured out
It was mentioned that Ann had gotten some kind of sponsorship for food last year and we needed to contact her to find out where she got the food and who to talk to there and if she had the food lists from years past
And that was pretty much it, if I missed anything please feel free to add what I missed
And sorry this took me so long but I left the notes at my house and I’m house sitting at my gf’s parents place while they are on vacation
