Sorry this is a little late folks i had ment to do it friday but things came up and this is the first chance i had to look everything over and post up some minutes, hopefully i didnt forget too much from the meeting and feel free to fill in my gaps if you would please.
-Meeting started off at 7 as usual with David Way discussing how he was out with the new bioligist, that day, hired by the DNR and how he was catching her up to speed on everything that has been going on out there
-He is thinking that they should be able to get permits later this summer towards fall to be able to do work in the stream crossings
-Bottom of sac-up where it cross Hogerty(sp?) creek David is wanting to harden that crossing once we get the permits
-David was also talking about narrowing the stream leading to the second camping area to cut down on erosion around the stream crossing, and he would like to harden the bed of the stream with rock where people are crossing it.
-This entails closing all uneeded stream entraces around the area
-Austin creek he would like to see the stream get a rock bed for crossing
-Then he moved onto how the Reiter Foothills Recreation Plan should be out for public review in September or October no difinitive date yet, there will be a pubilc meeting held for this
-Then we discussed narrowing up the gate keeper getting from the main camping area into the trails area. There was talk about doing some sort of rock base too, to try and keep the smaller cars and 2wds out. Basically make it an actual gate keeper instead of a small road into the area
-He mentioned with the money thats been lost to recreation use Kim Gunter(sp?) wont be out at Reiter on a regular basis just on special events and such
-We discussed setting dates for work partys ahead of time like farther in advance. But it was mentioned that right now everything that is happening at Reiter is on such a short notice basis this is going to be very difficult, once things are set in stone for the future of Reiter this will be looked at again
-Then we talked about how to fix Rhinoland as some indviduals went through and cut up all our efforts of fixing the go arounds that are uneeded. Talked about use of ecology blocks, wood with rebar in it, large metal poles sunk into the ground or cement posts in the ground. David was going to check into the liabilitys on anything like we had talked about and make sure DNR wouldnt get sued for it.
-We also thought about doing some sort of a ditch at the begining of some trails to keep lesser equip vehicles out.
-Also discussed doing some sort of signage to protect our go around closures and see if we can get some DNR signs
-Our by laws as RTW are suppose to be posted online fairly soon and we decided to use the Roberts rules for meetings
Thats about the jist of what i got:)
