Hello RTW!
As I mentioned at your March meeting, the DNR is going to be investing some money into the Reiter Foothills area before the end of June. The three issues that we would like to focus on are:
1. Resource protection/restoration
2. User Education
3. Increased Enforcement
We are working with area users and our sister agencies (DFW, DOE, and Tulalip Tribes) to identify some areas that we could focus our efforts. If you have any input, please let me know prior to April 20th.
I will be sharing elements of this work plan in the month of May. At that time it will be very important for groups like Reiter Trail Watch to support the changes and help through volunteering labor.
We anticipate the finalization of our Recreation Planning Committees' recommendations by early May, therefore any work that we do at Reiter will have to make sense in context of any longer term decisions for the landscape.
Feel free to contact me with any suggestion that you have.
Thanks,
David Way
